Pasteurised White

Chile

“I don’t know anything about being a person of colour.
I’m a white woman.
So white, my veins show blue up under my white skin.
I don’t know anything about being seen as a dark cloud that stands out in a sky of white milky nothingness, treated like a dirty stain.

Canada

I have an education, access to a doctor, a house, a police service.
I am privileged in this world,
because I’m white.
My Poverty is relative and different.
I know nothing of having nothing, of being treated as nothing, as being seen as nothing.
Because I am white.

France

I need to understand what it is to be white.
I need to Understand mySelf as a white woman.
SO YES I DO SEE COLOUR
I see beautiful people
And rich diverse cultures.
Forgive my ignorance.
Brother Sister,
I love you.
